Alright, so since we have decided that 275 BCE (48 years after Alexander the Great's death) is where we'll begin I figured it might help if people knew a bit more about the region, culture, etc, that we are starting in. So, some research later, I give you this information. I hope it helps with deciding claims and storytelling, etc.
[glow=red,2,300]MAP: 275 BCE[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]Nations & Cultures[/glow] Note: The nation name is on the left side, and the culture of the nation is on the right side.
Bithynia - Thracians
Pontus - Persian
Parthia - Parthian, an Iranian people
Media Atropatene - Persian
Galatia - Gaulish/Gallic (Celt)

Scordisci - Celts who ruled over Thracians and some Illyrians. They were outnumbered by the natives they ruled over, and slowly became mixed into it, though maintaining a Celtic culture.
Triballi - Thracian Tribe
Odrysi (Odrysian Kingdom) - Thracian
Getae - Thracian/Dacian Tribes
Cappadocia - Originally ancient Hittite Culture, then Mushki. Conquered by Lydians for a time, then the people came under Persian rule, until Alexander's conquest.
Pergamon/Pergamum - Greek
Aetolian League - Greek
Achaean League - Greek
Macedon - Greek
Sparta - Greek
Bosporan/Bosphoran Kingdom - Greek Kingdom which also ruled over natives such as the Sindi.
Rhodes - Greek
Epirus - Greek
Heraclea - Greek City-State
Sinope - Greek City-State
Trapezus - Greek City-State

Additional Note: While these are the main nations marked on the map, this is most certainly not all of them. There are many other Greek City-States in mainland Greece and Crete, as well as Illyrian, Celtic, Thracian, Dacian, and Paeonian tribes and Kingdoms in the Balkans. These also offer great opportunities as possible claims with vibrant cultures to give you plenty of storytelling/RPing possibilities.
